Wii Fit

I must say I love my Wii Fit.  I had my second baby 4 weeks ago and I already want to get my body back into shape.  But after a very hard pregnancy my body is less than ready to go full force with a new workout routine.  I also want to make sure my body has had enough time to heal from just delivering a seven and a half pound baby!  So, I figured the Wii Fit would be a good starting point.

Of course I have read many places where people say just save your money hit the trails, get a gym membership, etc.  But I am actually going to go out on a whim here and disagree.  To me the Wii Fit is something fun that will get you up and moving.  I don’t think is going to make you a super model.  However, if you are struggling to get motivated I think this could be the perfect answer.  The Wii Fit would be an excellent supplement to your workout or a great starting point.  I think it is great to have another alternative to your standard workout routine.  And honestly I think spending $80 on a Wii Fit is better money spent then on some fad diet.  The experts say eat less and exercise more.  Well, if Wii Fit helps me reach that goal why not use it?

It is also nice that the Wii Fit will track your progress.  It keeps track of your weight and bmi.  Then it graphs it all for you so it gives you the visual that you are actually making progress.  Yes you can step on a scale and know that you are losing weight.  But there is something about seeing your graph going down that really keeps you motivated.  The only drawback I see is that they make your Wii Mii person fat if you are overweight.  It did hurt to see my little person with extra weight, but then again I just had a baby and I am a normal weight generally.  I just try and use it as a little extra motivation.

I must say I have actually done 30 minutes on the Wii Fit and been sweating by the end.  So, it is possible to push yourself hard enough to get a decent workout.  I have also lost 16 pounds since having my son.  Overall, I say if you are looking for a fun alternative to your typical workout, go for the Wii Fit.  Incorporate it into your normal weekly routine and I think you will be surprised with how much you can enjoy working out.
